If you are ready to get to know the unique, masterpiece works left in Istanbul by the great architect and engineer Koca Sinan, who gave his name to a crater discovered on Mercury in 1976, who pioneered the education of tens of hundreds of colleagues at his university, who published many novels and plays dedicated to his name, whose life was the subject of television series, we are ready to start.

Our first stop is Şehzade Mosque, the first monumental structure built by Mimar Sinan in Istanbul. Sinan later said that he built this mosque during his apprenticeship. Only Mimar Sinan could have been the “apprentice” who built such a structure. 

Şehzade Mehmet was the son of Suleiman the Magnificent, who was said to be his favorite among his five sons and whom he considered to be the heir apparent. His father, Suleiman the Magnificent, who died at an early age in 1543 while he was governor of the Sanjak of Manisa, first built a mausoleum and then a large mosque.

Our second point is the Süleymaniye Mosque, which is described as the work of Mimar Sinan’s journeyman period, where you will listen with curiosity to the unknown construction story of the mosque, which has not had the slightest crack in its walls despite more than a hundred earthquakes in Istanbul since its construction until today. Suleymaniye Mosque, where every wall and corner is full of surprises, will impress you very much.

After having lunch at our restaurant where you can choose Ottoman cuisine or fast food, you will board the boat that will take you around the Bosphorus and on the dreamy journey, Rumeli Fortress, Çırağan and Dolmabahçe palaces, Ortaköy mosque and the pearls of the Bosphorus, the Bosphorus bridges will be waiting for you and the last stop will be Üsküdar Mihirmah Sultan Mosque, the scene of a love affair.

It is the mosque built by Mimar Sinan for Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent, in Üsküdar pier square. When looking towards Mihirmah Sultan Mosque from the Bayezid fire tower or from a high point in that region in April and May; the sunrise between the two minarets of Mihirmah Sultan Mosque at sunrise in the morning and the moonrise at sunset in the evening (on the 14th of every month according to the Hijri calendar) can be watched. Therefore, Mihr-î Mah means Sun and Moon.
